dont take what im about to say the wrong way.
design your own logos without using a picture of something someone else has done. ie: the photoshop icon, feather, adobe symbol, and chess board. most of what i see is just a few layer styles and filters added to someone's image. while filters are good, if used properly, they shouldnt be what makes up the entire image. what i would like to see from you is images created by you from the bottom up, not using what some else has done as a basis. i know when i started out, i did the same thing. its good for beginners to use other's works as a guide, but not as a base.
look at the following image:
while i "traced" the main outline of the skull, ALL of the details were added by me. you see, i used the picture as a guide rather than a base.
please dont take my criticism the wrong way. im trying to help you. take all of what i said in mind before making tutorials. tutorials are meant to be guides to what you have created, not really using what others have already made. step by step instructions are very hard to get wrote down and in a way that is easy for the reader to understand. scrub the tutorials for now and when youre more experienced, 2+ years, give the world a piece of your knowledge and experience. about 2.5 years with working with photoshop and i am nowhere near close to saying im ready to make a tutorial site. i want to make one, but i need more time to learn.
****Klunker Rant Ahead**** in my opinion, matt huntanar has babied your entire class by being too easily impressed by the simplest image. he needs to step-up his attitude and be more strict so that the entire class doesnt become too eat up with themselves and when rejection comes (and it will) that they can handle it. why i say this, is last semester, one of your classmates was having trouble with class and they wouldnt let me help them. their exact words were "im in the class and youre not, so i dont need help from someone who isnt educated." so i made a pact with myself never to help one of his students with photoshop unless they WERE WILLING TO LEARN!

This will be used in my final project, I decided to make a tutorial site. This image will have multiple links for the for the showed topics. You click on them, and you will go to the area related to what you clicked.
Any thoughts as to what I could do to add more of a "wow" factor?

guitar hero 3 legends of rock « Result #4 on Nov 10, 2009, 7:44pm »
after getting off of work today, i went to a family dollar store and noticed that they had guitar hero 3: legends of rock for only $20. this included both the game and the guitar controller. at first i was skeptical about buying it, but then i realized that i was bored and bought it. my past experiences with guitar hero have not been that good, but after i played through the tutorials, i was better able to understand how the game played. so im now playing the game on easy, then ill move up to the harder difficulties. im surprised at how addicted to this game i am. i also realized that my being left handed has greatly increased my ability to play this game. i also found a comfortable way of playing the game by sitting on my bed with my back against the wall and having the controller rest soundly on my stomach. fyi, im playing this on the ps2. the family dollar also has it on the 360 for the same price, im not sure about the wii. well back to gaming...
